Maui
- The Valley Isle

Maui no ka oi - "Maui is the best", as we say in Hawaii,
pretty much sums it up - Maui is the best place to visit in the
world!
Combining the perfect mix of ideal weather, crystal-clear, warm
tropical waters, stunning scenery, friendly people, world-class
beaches, modern amenities and Aloha spirit, Maui is the destination
choice for many travelers.
Maui is the second largest Hawaiian island. Maui's diverse topography
provides many very different mini - climates, from very cold, dry
and windy at the top of Haleakal (Maui's largest mountain), to moist,
verdant rain forest at sea level in Hana (Maui's lovely, remote
windward district).
A nature lover's paradise, with scenic hikes, beautiful waterfalls,
awesome scenery, and great beaches, Maui provides many sports activities,
and offers world-class surfing, windsurfing, and kiteboarding conditions.
The biggest waves ever surfed happen every winter at Jaws, Maui's
legendary big wave surf break. Here you can see possibly the bravest
surfers in the world riding unbelievable mountains of water, a sight
you will never forget.
Hookipa Beach Park, on Maui's North Shore, is the world's finest
venue for top class professional windsurfing competitions. In the
winter, Hookipa becomes a magnet for the finest windsurfers on the
planet, and nearby Paia town is filled with colorful characters
from all over the world.
Kahului and Wailuku are the Central Valley's twin cities. Kahului
is where the airport and much of the residential and commercial
activity is, and Wailuku, which abuts Kahului, is where the civic
center, industrial area, and other residential areas are.
Maui's South Shore (Kihei, Wailea, and Makena) is extremely popular
with visitors. The weather on this leeward side of the island is
hot and sunny, a perfect antidote for the mainland's winter cold
and gloom.
This is the home of many hotels, world-class resorts and championship
golf courses, and has many restaurants, condos, and shopping venues.
The West Side (Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua, Napili) is the other
main visitor area. Home of major resorts, excellent golf courses,
and Lahaina's historic village, the West Side is very beautiful,
and offers many activities, such as whale watching, parasailing,
scuba, surfing, horseback riding, shopping, swimming, hiking, luaus,
helicopter tours, and much more.
